Talent LNG Signs a Business Agreement with Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province at the International Hydrogen Forum

[Monthly Hydrogen Economy Reporter Seong Jae-gyeong] A global exchange event was held in Samcheok to demonstrate Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province’s will to lead the hydrogen economy and to provide support for industry development.

Samcheok City held a hydrogen forum on the theme of ‘Gangwon Hydrogen Energy in the World’ at the Grand Ballroom of Samcheok Sol Beach Resort on December 20-21. Hosted by Gangwon Techno Park, the event was attended by about 200 domestic and international hydrogen experts and industry professionals.

On the first day of the forum, the 20th, Professor Min-soo Kim of Seoul National University gave a keynote speech on the topic of ‘International Hydrogen Industry and Technology Trends’, followed by presentations by experts from each country on topics such as hydrogen industry trends and advanced global hydrogen technologies.

In particular, before the event began, Gangwon-do, Samcheok City, hydrogen companies PK Valve & Engineering, Talent LNG, and Daeha signed a business agreement promising mutual cooperation and support to strengthen the competitiveness of the liquefied hydrogen industry and attract companies to the province.

Through this agreement, the two parties will cooperate in attracting companies related to liquid hydrogen, creating quality jobs, conducting verification and technology development for materials, parts, and equipment related to liquid hydrogen, and discovering new tasks to revitalize the liquid hydrogen industry.

Samcheok City is investing 15 billion won in the local extinction response fund and is promoting the creation of a hydrogen-specialized industrial complex on an area of ​​139,954㎡ (industrial facility land area of ​​76,815㎡) in Dongmak-ri, Geundeok-myeon by 2025.

At this forum, business agreements were also signed for technological cooperation between the Netherlands and hydrogen companies in the province, Canada and Gangwon-do and Samcheok City, and for fostering the hydrogen industry.

Meanwhile, the ‘Hydrogen Storage and Transportation Cluster Construction Project’, which Gangwon-do is promoting as a representative regional pledge and key strategic project, passed the preliminary feasibility study by the Ministry of Strategy and Finance’s Financial Project Evaluation Committee on December 6.
